Clyde Heath provides motivational messages to young children through yo-yo tricks as part of the NED Show through All for KIDZ Inc., and also with his recently published children’s book, “Kids Have Ups and Downs Too!” The Hemet resident has encouraged more than a million kids throughout the world in the decade he has been performing with the group at school assemblies.
Who knew? It’s been 6 years since I’ve been on stage sharing The NED Show with elementary kids throughout the globe. During these six adventurous years I have sought my heart & soul about the call on my life. Sure, delivering 4,000 lbs of uniforms daily was a blessing. Sure, being the branch manager of a landscape outfit with no experience (being “green” to the industry as they say, “HaH!) was a challenge but was still a blessing.
I still kept asking God, “What is it you want me to do? Do I continue writing my kids book series #KidsHaveUpsAndDownsToo ? Lord, if I’m not to minister to kids and hop on an airplane to do it then what would you have me to do?” Well, at the end of Tami and I’s 21 day fast I received a text from the founder of www.thenedshows.com . I never saw that coming. But after a few conversations God confirmed the direction for my life – that I wasn’t through with his call on my life to write and to minister to kids.
God will reveal to me the purpose of the last six years and I will share that with you when he does. For now, I will gladly share this wonderful message with kids throughout the world and encourage them to choose a positive mindset on their mission in life. #BeTheBuddy “Promoting Literacy of the Heart and Mind will Cultivate the Landscape of a Child’s Future!” #HaveARomans1513Day
The day I stopped sharing a positive message about becoming a champion in school and in life I was faced with doing a new thing. I was grateful for the opportunity to do something new – Today I am grateful to return to this arena. Stay tuned as I announce, in the days to come, the opportunity I have to do a new thing.
No matter what’s happening at home, your neighborhood, or with your friends you have what it takes to make good choices. Maybe that’s a new thing for you – #YouGotThis!

Stay on the path! Life will distract you. When I was performing my last school assembly in England in 2013 I stopped planning and allowed the event in finding a new career distract from the career I really wanted – being an author. I reached 1.6M kids in six countries and thirty-five states as a NED Show performer so why wouldn’t I continue reaching kids in a positive, character-building way? How many more kids can I reach through books than in person? It’s exponential especially with today’s multimedia and social media opportunities. I met Tim with Blue Fish Web Design in Post Falls, ID today … Today I began planning my next career as a kids book author. Kids Have Ups and Downs Too the first book in the series, as well as the second book subtitled, “A Bully’s Journal” are available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Remember “Promoting literacy of the heart and mind cultivates the landscape of a child’s future”. #BookerWeed #KidsHaveUpsAndDownsToo #bethebuddy
What is your rousing or uplifting identity that tells others who you are? Maybe you want others to know your call in life or maybe your cause? I want others to see how I try to live like Christ spoke the Truth because He was the Truth speaking. I want Christ to be my anthem. I may hit a wrong note at times but the conviction of my heart sets me back on track. I write & illustrate kids books because the anthem of #BookerWeed is sharing with kids that no matter what’s happening at home, their neighborhood, or with their friends they have what it takes to make #goodchoices.
Yes wearing a helmet for your safety is not only smart but making a right choice. Although it has nothing to do with this post it helps me make a small point – “No matter what it’s like in our home, our neighborhood, or with our frineds we can learn to make right choices.” I say “learn” hoping that it is someone else’s example and not your own that your learn this. Here’s a chapter from my book, “Kids Have Ups & Downs Too!:
No matter what it’s like at home, in my neighborhood or with my friends I have what it takes to make positive healthy choices. When I make mistakes I try to learn from them and not make them again. At home I help when I’m asked, clean my room when needed, and eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for breakfast lunch and dinner – I wish.
Our neighborhood can be crazy sometimes. We have neighbors that don’t get along, a bully that lives at the end of the block, and our neighbor’s goat gets out and eats skateboards, baseball gloves and lets our cat ride on his back. When the neighbors aren’t getting along I ride my bike the other way. Our block has a look-out-for-the-bully plan when he is spotted in the area so we have a chance to avoid him.
Good friends treat each other fair and respectful. Treating others the way I want to be treated is always the right thing to do. I make choices every day, all day. I make them based on what’s right, not on what others try to get me to do. Sometimes it’s easy to go along with the crowd but making right choices will always leave you feeling good inside. It’s my responsibility to do what’s right, it’s hard sometimes but if I stop and think about something before I do it I make better choices.
What matters most is being the best I can be in my home, my neighborhood and with my friends. I’m not the best at yoyos or a world champion skateboarder but I have what it takes to make right choices.
